An interventional cardiologist sued a Hospital for defamation for engaging in a peer review process that was financially motivated.

Our client died at 13 years of age after the physicians caring for her administered too much of the sedation drug Propofol. The physicians were sued for ordering the incorrect dosage of the drug and the hospital for the nurses failure to monitor our client appropriately and thus failing to recognize the signs of organ failure.

The jury awarded damages to compensate for her injuries as well as significant punitive damages against the drug company for its willful misconduct.
